Bwahahaha! The other half just bought me a copy of this album, declaring that the lovely Joan Jett inspired his fascination for short hair during his formative years... I just love the loud, brashness that makes me wanna dance.

Rob is ultra cool, of course -- anyone who loves Joan Jett is! I just always loved her attitude, I mean, beside the fact that she created some kick-ass tunes. Here was a woman who said "FUCK THAT" to traditional roles, societal or gender or otherwise, but who remained true to herself. That pretty much rocks. I'm a big fan of people who fight against society's rules, which pretty much includes every artist who ever lived.
My favorite modern counterpart to Joan Jett is Brody Dalle, whose most recent incarnation is via Spinerette, but she made some good stuff with The Distillers, too. I'm betting that Rob would love him some Spinerette...
