ORLY?

I've been away, because I've gotten sucked back into IRC.  I never thought it could happen again, but it did.  And, well... there I am.  I have some amusing things to say about it all, which I will try to mention later. Among the most amusing is that I was made a channel op tonight, for no real reason other than that I seem to have a sense of humor that one of the other ops likes.  Granted, not on the most wild-western network, but still.

  1. LOL! The last time I did IRC was more than ten years ago. I was totally addicted. I had a lot of fun chatting with a few folks who were in the States. I was in Hong Kong at the time.

I might have tried to do it again a couple of years ago. The channel I used to "hang out" was gone and so I felt a little lost. After a few minutes, I gave up and un-installed mIRC.

  3. Heh, yeah, Tiny, it's ridiculous. And weird. Years ago I used to be on EFnet, but that place is serious wild-west now...

Kelly, IRC is "Internet Relay Chat." It's a live, interactive chat system that people all over the world use. It's been around for ages, and like Tiny said, it is *very* addictive. If you want to try it out, install the mIRC program (I think it's free) and have at it :)

  4. When I think about it now, it's really silly that I could be that addicted to IRC. I had little in common with the people there. If you are interested, I wrote a post about IRC a while ago.
